September 22 1923 - Notable Passengers
The EMPRESS OF ASIA, commanded by L. D. Douglas, concluded a Pacific crossing upon reaching Vancouver on September 22nd, 1923.
The ship visited Yokohama 2 weeks after the city had been devastated by an enormous earthquake that had occurred on September 1st, 1923.
At Yokohama approximately 25 individuals
fleeing the ravaged city boarded the EMPRESS OF ASIA and sailed to Canada.
