February 6 1927 - Notable Passengers
The EMPRESS
OF ASIA, commanded by L. D. Douglas,, began a Pacific crossing upon sailing from
Vancouver on February 6th, 1927.
A capacity cargo and a passenger list of 302 was reported.
The cargo included cotton, flour, beef, and mutton.
The ship was
a day late in sailing for the Far East having had to await the arrival by rail
of passengers and mail from the Canadian Pacific liner MONTROSE.
The MONTROSE had reached Saint John on February 1st, 1937.
