July 22 1926 - Notable Passengers
The EMPRESS OF ASIA, commanded by A. V. R. Lovegrove, began a Pacific crossing upon sailing from Vancouver on July 22nd, 1926. The ship carried a large passenger list attributable in part to the removal of the EMPRESS OF AUSTRALIA from the Pacific. Passengers included parties travelling to China from Cuba and Trinidad. A heavy cargo amounting to 3,200 tons was carried and included automobiles, cigarettes, flour, spelter, Kraft paper and wood pulp.
