June 15 1922 - Notable Passengers
The EMPRESS OF ASIA, commanded by L. W. Douglas, began a Pacific crossing upon sailing from Vancouver on June 15th, 1922.
A passenger list of about 500 was reported with 130 First Class and 40 Cabin Class passengers.
General Grigori Semenoff was a passenger on this voyage. General Semenoff was a leader of the Cossacks and of the anti-Soviet forces in Siberia. He was travelling to Harbin, Manchuria after a visit to the United States.
